Life Skills are the abilities required to make the most of one's life. A life skill is any skill that you can use in your everyday life. Most people consider tying their shoes, swimming, driving a car, and using a computer to be valuable life skills. In general, the term life skills refers to any of the abilities required to effectively deal with life's challenges. Communication and interpersonal skills, in general, refer to the abilities needed to get along with and work with others, particularly the ability to send and receive written or verbal messages. To understand problems, find solutions to them, either alone or with others, and then act to address them, decision-making and problem-solving skills are required. The ability to think about problems in novel and unusual ways in order to find new solutions or generate new ideas is referred to as creative and critical thinking, as is the ability to carefully assess information and understand its relevance. Self-awareness and empathy are two essential components of emotional intelligence. They talk about knowing yourself and being able to feel for other people as if their experiences were your own. Self-control refers to assertiveness and equanimity. These abilities describe the ability to stand up for yourself and others while remaining calm in the face of significant provocation. Resilience and problem-solving ability describe the ability to recover from setbacks and view them as learning opportunities or simply experiences.
