The potential impact of COVID 19 is huge in almost any aspect of our lives we may consider. From the way we communicate, interact, travel, work, eat, it will have lasting consequences in all these domains.
One important factor to consider is the changes this has brought to the workplace. When the best thing to do during a pandemic is to stay at home, companies all around the globe have to adapt to the given circumstances. The same has followed for schools, colleges, and many other places of public interaction. With all of us having to work and study remotely, many businesses are beginning to realize that this may be a more sustainable and suitable work/study environment. With further improvements and adequate infrastructure in place, one could imagine a world where more people work remotely, and instead of sending their kids to school, let them learn from the comfort of home.
COVID has also changed our view of public health and safety. Most, if not all of us, have become more rigid with our hygiene, which is for the best. Our means of public transportation and other public spaces will be under higher scrutiny to maintain better sanitary conditions. By ensuring these things, nations will try to avoid the spread of other potential diseases in the future.
This pandemic has made us realize that our current worldview about a lot of things might have been shortsighted. The poor have been hit incredibly hard during this pandemic. The massive loss of life and property during the epidemic is something we should all keep in mind going ahead as we try to build a more civil and inclusive society for all economic groups. COVID-19 has given us a chance to take a second and consider the kind of people we want to be, and the world we want to be a part of. With everyone needing to adapt to the new conditions, we will come out of this pandemic stronger and more resilient.
