WHAT IS CAFFEINE?
It is a bitter substance found in tea
leaves, coffee beans and cacao made chocolates Caffeine stimulates our nervous
system and makes us feel full of energy. It makes us feel more awake. Caffeine
also increases the frequency of urination and acidity or heartburn due to
increased release of stomach acids. It can also help in increasing the blood
pressure.
Caffeine usually reaches to its peak
level in the body withing an hour of its intake. Intake of upto 400 mg of
caffeine per day is not harmful for a normal individual.

WHO ALL SHOULD AVOID CAFFEINE?
1. Insomniacs: Insomniacs
or people having any sort disorder should avoid intake of caffeine as it can
cause further trouble for them.
2. Pregnant women:
During pregnancy, caffeine must be reduced to minimum and if possible zero as
caffeine can reach baby's blood through placenta.
3. GERD: People
suffering from GERD or gastroesophageal reflux disease must avoid caffeine.
4. Heart patients:
They must avoid consumption of caffeine as it can fluctuate heart rates and
their blood pressure.
5. Breastfeeding mothers: As
the caffeine can pass from the mother to child through breastfeeding, so it
must be avoided.
6. Patients on certain medications like
stimulants etc should avoid caffeine intake.
